Provide students and teachers in all classrooms with access to an online catalog of reading materials at various levels as available throughout the school; such access will allow students to select reading materials and develop reading skills at their individual ability and interest level.

Train E.C. teacher and aides in implementation of Investigations Math program in grades K-5, and of Connected Math in grades 6-8, standards-based curriculums supported by the National Science Foundation, TERC and Pearson Publishing, that focus on math basics and encourage children to develop thinking skills and the ability to reason mathematically.

 $3,000 funding to purchase additional curriculum materials  for both  Investigations math and Connected Math programs, including textbooks, workbooks, manipulative kits, etc.

Teachers will agree upon a consistent method of enforcing the Code of Conduct and collaborate in dealing effectively with students who are displaying inappropriate behaviors.

Offer professional development in Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies for Early Childhood for teachers and E.C. staff in grades K-8.

Schedule times for Melanie Rothchild, Director of Early Childhood Education, Tri-County Community College, to meet with kindergarten thru second grade teachers and assistants individually; to provide training in positive behavior intervention strategies for early childhood.

 

Funding for EC staff to attend trainings in positive behavioral interventions for E.C. staff.

 

 Visitor sign-in sheets will record dates and times that Ms. Rothchild is on campus to meet with teachers.

Documentation of completion of professional development/ training in positive behavioral interventions by individual EC staff who work directly with E.C. students with behavioral needs, particularly those receiving PC 29 funding.

E.C. Director will continue to participate in all evaluation determination meetings to ensure that the eligibility determination meeting is held and the results of the evaluation are provided to parents/guardians within 90 days of the parental consent to evaluate being signed.

Continue to hold transition meetings for all E.C. students entering 9th grade which include the student and high school E.C. teachers (along with other necessary members) and at which the student’s IEP is reviewed to be sure that his/her Transition Plan incorporates postsecondary goals.
