Hello and welcome to our
website. If you are new to our school and/or
site, please EXPLORE! The Learning Center! is a tuition-free public charter school
that does
not take a “one-size-fits-all” approach to
educating children.
Part of the growing national movement to provide choice and opportunity in
education, charter schools are empowered to create and implement
instructional methods that best suit the needs of each student. The result
of this choice is an “out-of-the-box” approach to education, promoting
innovation, higher expectations and real results. We have programs offered
by no other schools in our area, designed to enrich your child’s educational
experience and prepare them for the future.
Please do note that our
website is always under construction. We are a
small school, committed to the idea of building
and maintaining a school community. We
know how important a tool the Internet and
technology is in developing this sense of
community -- in communicating. Thus, we
sometimes get a little a head of our selves in
planning where we want to go. Just know
that these links and pages are under
construction -- and come back and visit us often
to witness our progress!!

The
President's Challenge Physical Activity and
Fitness Awards Program has recognized
TLC! We are
the state champions for the physical fitness
test in a school of less than 200 students.
We have received national recog-nition on the
Presidential web site, a special certificate
to display, and each student who achieved
the "Presidential" level last year will
receive a state champion patch. Check it out

Our extras include
chorus, art, daily PE, REAL, Garden-Based
Learning and Far Out Food Ventures. We also
have an Electives program for 5th thru 8th grades
that currently includes these classes: Stringed
Instruments, Math Club, Chess Club, Geography Bowl,
Scrapbooking, Health & Beauty, Weaving,
