“Scooby Doo! Where are you?”

Ghoul School Mystery Maze planned for Charter School’s 8th Monster Mash Bash.

You might want to keep an eye out for the “Mystery Machine” cruising the streets of Murphy in the coming weeks. Scooby-Doo’s “Ghoul School Mystery Maze” is this year’s theme planned for The Learning Center! Charter School’s 8th annual Monster Mash Bash. As in the popular cartoon series from the ‘70’s, the Mystery Machine will be a highlight and “main character” at the October 29th event along with Scooby, Shaggy and the rest of the gang.

The school has had a different theme each year for it’s annual Halloween event, also known as “Monster Mash Bash. “We plan for almost six months in advance and have a lot of help from dozens of dedicated parents as well as many community members and business owners,” said Mary Jo Dyre, director of the school.

“The Mystery Machine will be making stops at four area businesses,” said Social Media Director, Dana Bolyard, “If you identify the four locations, you will be eligible for a prize drawing of a gift basket filled with goodies from area businesses and community members. All you have to do is ‘Like Us’ on FaceBook @TLCGrowZonePage for clues to these locations.”

The event takes place Saturday, October 29 from 6:30pm to 10:30pm. Actors from the community and local high schools will play roles in Scooby-Doo’s “Ghoul School Mystery Maze.” Highlights will include a costume contest, “Scooby’s Snack Shack” serving Scooby Dogs, Shaggy’s Pizza, and dog bone cookies, a pumpkin carving contest, dance, bounce house, giant slide, cake raffles, and “Scooby-Doo” inspired booths and games.

The school is once again pre-selling tickets because of the demand for it last year. If you pre-buy $20 worth of tickets before Friday, October 28, you get $25 worth of tickets when you redeem them at the ticket counter on event night.

New this year is the inclusion of three “Mystery Maze Labyrinths. You can “thrill” to all three  for $10 or 1 maze for $4. Booths and activities are $1 to $2 and food will be for sale. The event takes place on Saturday, October 29th  from 6:30pm to 10:30pm at The Learning Center!
