Preschool Schedule

7:30-10:00 or 10:30: Primary Instruction Time

·        Individual or small group lessons begin as soon as students have transitioned from the entrance area.  Lesson areas include Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Math, Technology, Science, History, Geography and Art.

·        As the year progresses students are ready to work for longer periods of time; lesson time is extended to meet interest and ability levels.

·        Snacks are available after 8:10.

·        Occasionally, an educational video or guest lesson is included in this time.

10:00 or 10:30 to 11:00: Group Activity and Preparation for Lunch

·        Both inside and outside activities may be available during Group Activity.  Preparation for lunch is not a rushed time but rather is used as a teaching time for hand washing and other lunchtime skills.

11:00-11:30: Lunch in the Dining Commons

·        Lunchtime always includes encouragement from staff concerning the importance of eating a good meal as well as encouragement in good manners and etiquette.  The Nutrition Staff may also include Small Bites Lessons as part of the lunch environment.

11:30-12:15 or 12:30: Outdoor Play

·        If weather does not permit outdoor play, free play is available indoors or more time is allowed for favorite Group Activities.

12:30-1:00: Group Activities

·        Group Activities include craft projects, P.E. activities, music, cooking and a Friday movie.

1:00-1:10: Pick-up for First Group

1:00-1:30: Story Time and preparation for naps

1:30-2:30: Nap Time

2:30-3:00: Indoor Free Play/ Snack Time

3:00-3:10: Pick-up for second group

3:10-6:00: Preschool-Kindergarten Aftercare Program:

         *Free Play             *Arts and Crafts              *Stories

           *Cooking              *Games                 *Outdoor Play

           *Dramatic Play      *Movies

6:00PM: End of school day – Please pick up by 6:00 sharp!
