We embrace learning through the Arts as an essential part of a holistic, E-STEAM curriculum. Our classrooms and grounds swell with art projects from across the grade levels and subject areas. Our teachers use the arts, both visual and dramatic, in the classroom to teach core standards in an engaging and memorable way.

We know the Arts are a crucial component of education for 21st Century Students. Through our classroom arts emphasis, weekly art instruction in the elementary school, Art electives for the middle school, and extracurricular activities in the Arts, we are creating the kind of learners that can excel in any field they choose.

We're Building!

Our Goal is to Create a

Multi-Use Performance Space

We need to raise $30,000 to buy a dynamic stage and riser system that will bring a whole new level of performance and community gathering to our auditorium.

The Learning Center Spring Musical is coming up! Save the date for one of our three fabulous performances!

Our students and Drama staff work diligently to audition, rehearse, choreograph, and create sets and costumes for these performances. They are always amazing and we can't wait to see what they do this year!

We support a vibrant, active drama program at The Learning Center. We think that the dramatic arts are a fantastic way to teach public speaking and improve communication among our middle schoolers. Drama gives students a common ground to practice active collaboration and overcome shyness and timidity.

Our musicals are supported by the incredible costume and set design of our visual arts team and some dedicated volunteers. Our shows almost always sell out, and the GrowZone Players even travel to other schools to bring our performances to other students across the region.

Academics & The Arts

The Arts are a critical part of our E-STEAM philosophy. From Language Arts to Visual Arts and Design, we use the practices of art to explore all of our subjects. Students will often use a hands-on art project to dig deeper into their content area information. Whether its creating a quilt to explore geometry or buiding an intricate diorama to represent a historical event, we know that hands-on creation is critical to helping students retain information.

Each spring we invite a working artist to participate in week-long residency, providing our students with a deep dive into a unique craft. Past artists have included a poet, basket makers, potters, and more!

Music Education at TLC!

The musical arts are an important part of the school's E-STEAM Philosophy. Music education happens on many levels at the Learning Center. Chorus is offered for our K-3 students, and our GrowZone Players annual spring musical gives our middle school songbirds a chance to hone their skills.

On Fridays, we bring in a variety of musical artists from our region to our Dining Commons, exposing students to a variety of  different musical styles during their lunch time.
