Recently fourth graders were divided into groups and asked to create a new animal. The animal had to be comprised of many different real animal parts thus making a brand new species.
In addition to creating this new animal, the students also had to depict the habitat that the animal would live in and why. So if the group of students chose webbed duck feet then it would make sense for the habitat to include water since that is the perfect use for webbed feet.
Teamwork, art, science and critical thinking all rolled into one. Way to go Fourth Grade!
