5th & 6th Graders Study Australian Aborigines
Fifth and sixth graders recently learned about the Australian Aborigines by watching interviews of Aborigines and reading about them. As a closing activity the students created Aboriginal Dreaming Art using the four original colors that have meaning to the Aborigines people. The students did dot work, similar to pointillism, and used Australian animals and/or Aboriginal symbols in their art to tell a story with the colors.
