The Learning Center Charter School5th Grade E-STEAM — Raising Money for The Water Project as They Learn About the Water Cycle
The 5th graders decided to make items to sell to their classmates in an effort to raise money for The Water Project, a non-profit organization that provides reliable water projects to communities in sub-Saharan Africa. The class became aware of this organization during their unit of study on the water cycle. Several students participated by making rubber band bracelets, miniature clay figures, brownies, cookies, homemade liquid soap, origami, marshmallow catapults, photos, and bookmarks. The items were priced from 50 cents to 5 dollars. Selling only to their classmates, the students raised $104.
