9th Grade Works on Trails in TOLC

On November 5, 2021, Eddie Sylvester, trail maintenance specialist with the Southern Appalachian Bicycle Association (SABA) taught 9th graders about the process of making trails and how to do that in a way that was sustainable and eco-friendly. He introduced them to a variety of interesting tools and then gave teams specific tasks that included clearing trails of leaf litter and smoothing the edges of a section of newly cut trail so that it would resemble a more natural contour.
