All About Trees Field Work for Third Grade

On September 18, 2012, the third grade class traveled to the Georgia Mountain Research and Education Center for field work that focused on trees.  They learned about Appalachian native tree identification, about the parts of a tree,  uses of the forests, forest ecology, saving the Chestnut tree, habitats and limiting factors, and Indian trail trees.

What an outstanding learning experience and so much fun!
