Fairy Tale on Trial

Seventh grade students recently participated in Fairy Tales on Trial.  Rumplestiltskin was on trial for kidnapping.  The students took roles as the lawyer, witnesses, and judge.  They wrote opening statements as well as closing arguments.  They read the fairy tale and discussed the possible crimes that the characters allegedly committed.  The eighth grade students were the jury for this activity and found Rumplestiltskin innocent.  This was the culmination of a fairy tale study that seventh graders did in guided reading.
