The Learning Center Charter SchoolGarden Based Learning in 3rd Grade
As part of our garden based learning classes, third grade went on a tour of our school gardens. They learned about plant life cycles, seeds, germination, seasonal influences, edible plants, etc. Students brought their science notebooks to record observations on the differences in cotyledons and true leaves of lettuce and spinach plants. Students were also excited to see the goings on of our campus gardens.
The highlight of the trip was getting to munch on violas, one beautiful edible spring flower!
