Soil Science

Sixth graders recently were studying soil science and stewardship in their science class.  Using an inquiry activity, students created a piece of land surrounded by a water body.  Food coloring was used as an example “pollutant” poured into the soil.  As the students operated a small rain “cloud”, they saw how precipitation connects soil to ground and surface water.
