TLC K-5 Families,

Our governor announced yesterday that starting October 5, K-5 families will be able to return to “Plan A” or full in-person instruction on campus. We are greatly encouraged and excited about the prospect of being able to have our students back in person, as we have missed seeing them and understand the value of a full week’s worth of in-person instruction. Over the next few weeks, The Learning Center will be communicating with our families to get their feedback on a transition to Plan A as well as discussing the options for this switch. Please be patient with us as we wade through the safety requirements of Plan A to ensure we are still providing a safe and secure educational program for your students.

A few things to remember:

  • Those families who still wish to be remote this year will still be allowed to. The same procedures for check-in will apply (check in by 5:00 every day to be counted present)

  • Guidelines for student safety, including masks, still remain in place in Plan A: every student on campus MUST wear a mask

  • Our school will still continue to follow CDC/NCDHHS guidelines on students exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms; students showing symptoms will either need to receive a negative Covid-19 test or enter remote learning for 14 days to keep the rest of the class safe and healthy

We are also sending a survey out to our K-5 families to gauge their comfort level in returning to Plan A. Please complete that as quickly as possible so we have information in making future decisions.

From the bottom of my heart, thanks again for all the patience, encouragement, enthusiasm, and support you have provided our school during this time. It is so wonderful to have a strong community holding each other up during this time, and I appreciate so much everything we are all doing to make success out of this school year.
